Finding a surrogate mother for gay couples is much like finding a surrogate mother for heterosexual couples. Many of the surrogates that carry children for our gay intended parents do so specifically because they want to help gay and lesbian couples. While each surrogate we work with has her own ideas about the type of parents she’d like to work with, the Surrogacy Agency in Iowa is committed to helping gay and lesbian intended parents find the ideal surrogate to help them start (or add to!) their families.
Finding a Surrogate Mother for Gay Couples
Surrogacy is a sensitive and life-changing process for everyone involved, and our goal is to make sure the experience is as rewarding and fulfilling as possible. Part of ensuring that things go smoothly is matching the right surrogate to the right intended parents, because we know that the better suited you are to each other, the better the experience is going to be. We employ an in-depth screening process to assess our surrogate mothers, part of which includes determining who she’d ideally like to work with and why. We then use this information to determine which of our intended parents would be a good match and then provide them with the opportunity to review the profiles themselves and meet the surrogate. This helps to avoid any ideological or religious differences that may crop up, as these can make the surrogacy experience an unpleasant one.
